Andrea Ward is
the author of “Strut in Signature Style –Reinvent Your Wardrobe”
which allows her to network and connect with a vast new audience
and articulate to women “How to Look Appropriate and Have
Comfort Within Yourself.” She is also a veteran of the fashion
industry, representing every capacity from stylist-manufacturer
to a retail merchant. She is an accomplished connoisseur of
architectural wardrobing for the high profiled professional
woman.
Andrea, a Connecticut native, aspired to Manhattan’s Fashion
Avenue and began her inspirational career in the rag trade. She
was mentored by a top notch husband and wife team at a well
known Couture House known as Richilene which emulated the
designs of Yves St. Laurent, Oscar de le Renta and many of the
most renowned fashion designers in the world. Her position
developed as a stylist for TV’s favorite soap opera sets where
she chose the appropriate ensembles for the actors, maintaining
the theme of each program. Andrea traveled to many of the finest
shops in the U.S. while at Richilene such as Martha and
Elizabeth Arden as a consultant, premiering new collections as
well as featuring private showings each season.
Andrea married in 1985 and returned to Connecticut. She opened
Andrea Renee’ Limited, a fine women's apparel store, which she
ran with her sister as her partner for 2 years.
In 1988 Andrea joined Steilmann, one of the Europe’s leading
manufacturers for women’s apparel as their VP of sales. Karl
Lagerfeld’s licensed bridge collection known as KL was an
exclusive with the company and with Mr. Lagerfeld’s profound
fame and reputation offered notoriety. Steilmann had a mission
to open a ready to wear chain of upscale European clothing for
women. Andrea, hired for her expertise as a fashion and style
advisor, implemented many techniques as a highly trained fashion
consultant, accommodating clients with precision service.
Andrea’s vision as a philanthropist was always combined her
business strategies supporting a cause that she believed in.
Each location was researched demographically for business and
how the store could offer a civic sense of support. She often
traveled to Germany with the CEO of Steilmann to merchandise the
collections that were displayed each season.
Her continued passion to own her own business resulted in the
opening of Andrea Ward Clothier, where she was in business for
12 years. For her civic minded and philanthropic concept, Andrea
was honored with the Small Business Award by the New Haven
Chamber of Commerce.
Presently, Andrea Ward is the owner of Essentials by Andi Kamel
which offers "The Total Look in Dressing for the Modern Woman."
Andrea’s inspiration is to continue to educate all women that
have the desire and need by assisting them with there personal
appearance and is planning on writing a series of guide books on
this subject. |
